Be Care with upgrading to offical Froyo firmware from LG

Recently LG released their official 2.2 (froyo) firmware for the LG GW620. See here for further details.Be Care with upgrading to offical Froyo firmware from LG.

# Hidden Menu is not removed but "Enable Root Permission" menu is gone.
# Can't access fastboot with spacebar key.
# There's still MapleStory and QuickOffice and bunch of undeleteable LG apps.
# There is gallery 3D but not they're not removed stock gallery. so now i have two gallery apps.
# One more system Wi-Fi Profile, name is "ollehWiFi"
# Screen Calibration is missing.
# Enter key to click is removed in Web Browser.
# Official upgrade tool keeps user settings.
# Unable to downgrade yet
# Music Player is updated.
# Tethering works with PdaNet
# Can be rooted with SuperOneClick v1.5.5

Benchmarks:

* Neocore - 19.1 FPS
* Quadrant - 206

Bottomline:

It's much slower than OpenEtna.
and can't downgrade to old firmware- which means you lost fastboot and can't flash OpenEtna for now. so be careful.

Be careful !

As far as i know, there is no way to go back to an older firmware from that new official 2.2 !
That means you may never be able to go back to Open Etna after flashing that official firmware !

I suggest to wait a little before testing that new official version. And i'm not saying that to promote Open Etna over the official firmware.
Open Etna will always let you go to any firmware you want. On the other hand you would be stuck maybe forevever to official firmwares once you updated to that 2.2 from LG.

EDIT: It is now possible to flash the official firmware without losing fastboot. But ONLY if you flash the N2k1 dump of the new firmware. If you flash it with the standard LG tool it may very hard to revert to an older firmware with fastboot and on Open Etna.

EDIT2: Raburton found a way to recover fastboot even if you flashed your device with the official LG tool.
To do so you will need to use the modified CAB file Raburton made. Then flash it using kp500utils.

Thumbs up to Raburton for that helpful workaround !
